Fall elections were held for the offices of Northeast District chair and District secretary. Special thanks to outgoing Chair Jonathon Weiss, PT for serving the District the past
six years. Jon continues to be active at the district and state level, including mentoring new leaders and providing education for the profession. High tides raise all ships
- and is a fitting tribute to Jon’s far-reaching impact in elevating the District during his tenure.
Incoming Chair, Joe Kucksdorf, PT, DPT, along with a strong Executive Committee, has hit the ground running. Highlights include hosting a CE course January 21- 22
on Muscle Energy Technique (MET) instructed by Phil Schaible, PT, DPT and sponsoring cohorts for the 2-year Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapy Professional
Development Program. Cohort 2 completed its final class March 5 and 6. Thank you to those who have participated in Cohort 2 and those who helped mentor in the program.
We look forward to Cohort 2 participants continuing to be a part of future cohorts as participants, mentors, and WPTA members. Cohort 3 will have its fourth class (Upper
Extremity) April 1 and 2, with the final two courses later into 2017 and early 2018. Marketing for Cohort 4 will be sent out to WPTA members and student members with the
first course planned for a weekend in August 2017.
