  To promote quality clinical education to facilitate the development of entry-level Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants in Wisconsin in order to serve the needs of society

Vision:  To promote quality clinical education for PTs and PTAs by providing resources for the development of clinical education sites and by utilizing innovative clinical education strategies

Clinician Conference Scholarship

Consistent with its mission to promote quality clinical education, The Wisconsin Clinical Education Special Interest Group (CESIG) is committed to providing financial support for clinical members to attend continuing education related to clinical education. To achieve this, funds will be designated each year to fund a $600.00 scholarship. This will be awarded to a clinician to support attendance at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting (CSM). Scholarship application is due by October 31st of the previous year.

New SSIG Award Announced: Student Emerging Leader Award

The Recipient of the award will receive $1000 to be awarded at the WPTA 2016 Spring Conference.

  • Prerequisites:
    • Current PT or PTA student
    • WPTA/APTA member

To apply:

PT/PTA students will write an essay (no longer than 500 words) to apply that should address and will be assessed in 3 areas:

    1. School or community involvement including any job experience
    2. WPTA/APTA involvement
    3. Goals for professional development and strategy/plan to accomplish these goals upon graduation

Additionally, 2 professional letters of recommendation are required.

The applications should be sent to the WPTA Academic Liaison Committee Chair, Erik Gregersen, at erik.gregersen@froedtert.com) by January 31st. The application essay should be a word document or PDF. Please attach/send the two letters of recommendation and student application essay in one email. In the email also include full name, what school attending, year in school, APTA ID# and address.

The winner will be chosen by the WPTA Academic Liaison Committee and notified within two weeks of the application deadline.

The mission of the Superstars program is to recognize students who are doing exceptional work that may otherwise go unnoticed. This program provides the opportunity for professionals, professors or fellow classmates to show admiration for the effort and work that students are doing. All you need to do to nominate a student is click on the link below and fill out the survey (if you choose you can remain anonymous). The Superstars nominated will be notified that they were recognized and be provided with their nomination.
